This project was my first big job directing and leading, and very dear to my heart. Never Sit Still was lucky to be given the opportunity to design the splash screen for the 2022 release of Adobe After Effects, and Adobe gave us an entirely open brief. I approached this lack of constraints by setting up our own very quickly: locking in a colour palette of majority purple (After Effects), with accents of blue (Photoshop) and orange (Illustrator) as they are very commonly paired with the After Effects pipeline. I then worked closely with team-mate John Grist on storyboarding. The process of which consisted of us coming up with scenes that represented different features of AE, and then placing them in an order that would flow nicely, selecting options based on what fit in. When production kicked in, I took a heavy role on design and animation, crafting several scenes from start to finish (e.g. the growing plant, where every leaf features a different 'distortion' effect from the AE library). I also designed the key asset, the actual splash lockup, and our hero frame for the conclusion of the video.
